Day 1  :  FROM HOTEL TO RONGAI GATE TREK TO SIMBA CAMP


For your first day, you will drive from your Hotel to rongai gate for registration permit then start your 6 days trekking tour up to Simba Camp. This will take you approximately 2 hours, including a stop to get permits at rongai gate. Once you arrive at Simba Camp, you will begin your trek on a wide path that winds through fields of maize and potatoes before entering pine forest. The track then starts to trek consistently but gently through attractive forest that shelters a variety of wildlife. The forest begins to thin out, and the first camp is at the edge of the moorland zone with extensive views over the Kenyan plains. Your elevation for the day will be 2000m/6560ft to 2650m/8700ft, and the distance will be 6km/4mi. The trek will take you approximately 3-4 hours. The habitat for the day will be montane forest.

    Day 2  :  TREKKING SIMBA CAMP TO SECOND CAVE CAMP


    For your second day, you will be trek from Simba Camp to Second Cave. The morning trek will be a steady ascent up to the Second Cave with superb views of Kibo and the Eastern Ice Fields on the crater rim. Your elevation for the day will be 2650m/8700ft to 3450m/11,300ft, and the distance will be 6km/4mi. The trek will take you approximately 3-4 hours. The habitat for the day will be moorland.

    Day 3  :  TREK SECOND CAVE TO KIKELEWA CAMP


    On your third day, you will be heading out across the moorland on a smaller path towards the Jagged Peaks of Mawenzi. The campsite is in a sheltered valley with giant scenarios nearby. Your elevation for the day will be 33450m/11,300ft to 3600m/11,800ft, and the distance will be 9km/5mi. The trek will take you approximately 2-3 hours. The habitat for the day will be semi-desert.

    Day 4  :  KIKELEWA CAMP TREKKING TO MAWENZI TARN


    On your fourth day, you will be trekking fromKikelelwa Camp to Mawenzi Tarn. A short but steep trek up grassy slopes is rewarded by superb views. You will reach the campsite, spectacularly situated in a cirque directly beneath the towering spires of Mawenzi, in the afternoon. Your elevation for the day will be 3600m/11,800ft to 4330m/14,200ft, and the distance will be 6km/4mi. The trek will take you approximately 3-4 hours. The habitat for the day will be semi-desert.

    Day 5  :  MAWENZI TARN TO SUMMIT TO HOROMBO


    On fifth day, starting from Mawenzi Tarn Camp, you ascend through moorland and alpine desert to Kibo Hut (4,703m). After early dinner, rest briefly and begin the midnight summit attempt. Trekking steep and rocky terrain, you'll reach Gillman's Point (5,681m) for sunrise views. Push on to Uhuru Peak (5,895m), Africa's highest point. Descend back to Kibo Hut, then continue down to Horombo Hut for a well-deserved rest.

    Day 6  :  HOROMBO HUT TO MARANGU GATE


    On the sixth day, you will continue your descent down to the Marangu Park Gate, where you will receive your summit certificates. The trail is mostly downhill, but it can be wet and muddy, so it's important to wear gaiters and trekking poles to help you navigate the terrain. The last leg of your journey will be a comfortable drive, allowing you to reflect on your incredible journey to the summit of Kilimanjaro.
